BIOGRAPHY

What’s up with that name? Ehm, well let’s say that ‘P’ is not your average dj…

As a little boy Willem van der Ploeg was exposed to the first signs of an exciting new culture. House music and acid were getting popular, and grabbed his attention. That psychedelic aspect that kept everybody dancing for hours and hours… Wow! When house grew to different sub-genres, Cursed started to follow every step of its way…

P made his first dj appearances in front of the lasers from the rave and techno scene, but kept developing his sound. This led to a great variety in his dj sets and transformed him into a highly unpredictable but very classy dj. From future sounds to oldschool acid and house, his energetic performances always household a superb blend of beats, acid, house, electro, garage, indie-dance, disco and his old and trusted techno and rave sound.

For years now, this varied sound made him a welcome guest at festivals and clubs throughout The Netherlands. He played dazzling sets at clubs and stages like Effenaar, 013, Westergasfabriek, Mezz, Ekko, and festivals like STRP Festival, Mysteryland, Festyland and 7th Sunday. Every month he’s the host of the ‘Troppo Casino’ nights in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven. 5-Hour solo sets and surprising guest dj’s are there to keep the audience in the front row of electronic music.

At the beginning of 2011, as a personal musical outlet, Cursed P started his own record label ‘Little Globe Records’. His ‘own little world’ focuses on new electronic talents from The Benelux and households some breakthrough names in the future of electronic music.

So whether it comes to serving the most futuristic tunes, grabbing back in the oldschool crate or releasing Little Globe into the big world, Cursed P will never stand still. “That kills my soul”. “I’m cursed you know”.
